Islamist atrocities on Hindus continue, with news of a minor Hindu girl being burnt alive reported from Uttar Pradesh’s (UP) Amethi.

Minor Hindu girl burnt to death in Amethi

According to available information, the 16-year-old victim was repeatedly troubled and molested by the accused. There are also unconfirmed reports of sexual assault before the girl was set on fire. NeoPolitico spoke to the victim’s father, Jitendra Kumar Shukla, who said that she had been molested by the accused in the past, and they had complained to the police regarding the same, but no action was taken against the accused.

The incident, which took place in Amethi District’s Shukul Bazar area on 26 October, has left the Shukla family devastated. The victim’s father, Jitendra Kumar Shukla, informed media persons that his daughter aspired to become an IPS (Indian Police Service) officer. On the day of the incident, Jitendra was away at the bank when his nephew rushed and informed him that one of the rooms located on the second floor of his house was on fire. When they rushed back, they saw that his daughter was afire. Some people escaped from the rear exit of the house. Jitendra and his brothers put out the fire using blankets and rushed the victim to CHC hospital, where doctors declared her dead.

Police have registered an FIR (First Information Report) against five accused in addition to three unknown persons under several sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including 302 (murder) and 147 (punishment for rioting).

NeoPolitico quotes Jitendra Kumar Shukla saying that despite four days having passed since the incident, the police have not yet conducted a proper investigation into the matter. Moreover, they are questioning him instead. It has further come to light that a complaint was registered against Gufran, Faizan, Javed, and Prince Pal in May, as they were troubling and molesting his minor daughter.

At that time, the villagers pressured the family to settle the matter by withdrawing the complaint, thereby emboldening the accused further. They began threatening the minor Hindu girl and ultimately burnt her alive. Her teacher informed the team that the girl was very intelligent and scored 70 percent in the tenth board exams despite her poverty and aspired to become an IPS officer. Furthermore, since she was the eldest child in the family, the responsibility of alleviating her family’s poverty was on her shoulders.

Jitendra Kumar Shukla is a potato vendor. He was spending his earnings on his daughter’s education and didn’t even get his leaking roof fixed to ensure his daughter’s education didn’t suffer. NeoPolitico says six persons were residing in a house barely fit for two persons.

The minor’s distraught mother informed NeoPolitico that she had gone to the toilet at the time of the crime. There was a huge fair outside their house, and due to the noise, she couldn’t hear her daughter’s cries for help. She has demanded that the Yogi government punish the culprits by bulldozing their houses and ensuring they are given death sentences.

As social media pressure increased, the police arrested all the accused in the case and are questioning them. Furthermore, two constables have been deputed to the victim’s house for the family’s safety.

Minor Hindu girl raped and murdered in Bengal

In a similar case that came to light from West Bengal’s North 24 Parganas, a minor Hindu girl was reportedly raped and murdered by Ilyas Mondal. The incident took place at Kaharpara locality of Raghavpur village under Maslandapur Police Station. After murdering the child, the accused hanged her from a tree. Police have reportedly arrested Iliyas Mondal. Further information in the case is awaited.
