Minor girl raped by a Muslim youth consumes poison

In Maharajganj district of UP (Uttar Pradesh), a Muslim youth first raped a minor girl and then made a video of it and shared it with his friend. The friend also started blackmailing the victim through the video. Hurt by this, the girl consumed a poisonous substance. However, the doctors were successful in saving her life by administering timely treatment.

After the incident, the victim’s family lodged an FIR with the police. However, they allege that initially, the police did not take the matter seriously. When the victim’s statement was made before the magistrate, the police swung into action and started taking action against the accused.

Girl raped & incident recorded

The 14-year-old girl was raped after entering her house when she was alone at home. The accused Muslim youth lives in the girl’s neighbourhood. The act of blackmailing through video lasted about two and a half months. During this time, the victim’s family complained to the police but took no action. On the contrary, pressure was created to withdraw the complaint.

However, when the video went viral, there was an uproar. The victim’s statement was made before the magistrate, and the police caught the accused. A case was registered against him under the rape and POCSO Act. The person charged with making the video viral is absconding, and a case has also been registered against him. The police are investigating the matter.
