Latif Khan arrested for urinating on temples at Ujjain’s Ramghat

An old man named Latif Khan was urinating on the small temples built at Ujjain’s Ramghat. A devotee from Delhi said that he was walking with his family on the banks of Ramghat when he saw Khan urinating at the temples. When they stopped him from doing so, he did not agree. After this, with the help of some people, they caught him and later handed him over to the Mahakal police station.

Mahakal police station in-charge Ajay Verma said that information was received about urinating on temples in the Ramghat area, after which the police team was sent there. The people of the Hindu organization standing around Khan said that he was urinating on the temples, due to which they were angry.

The accused, Latif Khan, son of Fasal, resident of Fazalpura, aged 60, used to work as a sweeper in the Municipal Corporation and retired some time ago. When the police interrogated Khan, his ‘mental condition’ did not appear to be ‘good.’ Mahakal police station in-charge Ajay Verma said that in this case, a case was registered against the accused under section 295A, and he was presented in the court, from where he has been sent to jail.
