Kolkata: 4 TMC workers brutally torture pregnant woman, embryo dies

In a shocking incident, a pregnant woman is brutally tortured by four TMC workers in Belgharia of Kolkata. Due to the torture, the embryo died. As of now, the woman’s family has filed a written complaint at Belgharia Police Station. But, the Police are not taking any action against the perpetrators, alleged her husband. 

As per the reports, the pregnant woman is a resident of 29 no ward of Kamarhati Municipality under the jurisdiction of Belgharia Police Station. On the 19th of March, four TMC workers barged into the home of the woman. The TMC workers are close aide of ward councillor Nirmala Rai. 

The TMC workers dragged the pregnant woman outside and beat her brutally. The woman was kicked in the womb several times.

Eventually, the pregnant woman became seriously injured in the attack. She was immediately taken to Sagar Dutta Hospital. But, as her condition deteriorated, she was referred to RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. There, doctors said that her unborn child died in the womb. The condition of the woman is stable now. 

Later, her family filed a written complaint in the Belgharia Police Station against the perpetrators. As of now, the Police couldn’t arrest anyone. Sources said the police are searching for the accused as all are absconding.
