“Jharkhand: Akhtar arrested for strangling Hindu wife from Janjatiya community; Tried concealing murder by burying her”, Organiser, May 8, 2024:

“Another interfaith relationship met the same fate as the Hindu partner who lost her life in Jharkhand’s Lohardaga. On May 7, Bal Muni Lohra, a woman from the Janjatiya community, was strangled to death allegedly by her husband, Akhtar Ansari.

Following the brutal killing, Ansari took Muni’s body to the graveyard to bury her and conceal the mishap. However, the active locals caught him red-handed and informed the parents of Muni, after which, a case was registered against him and the police arrested him under charges of murder.

A First Information Report (FIR number: 13/2024) in this case was registered at the Kisko police station on May 7 by the victim’s father, Laldev Lohra. Based on this complaint, the accused Ansari has been booked under IPC sections 302 (murder), 201 (disappearing evidence), and 31 (acts committed by several people with common intention)…..”
