A Hindu woman forcibly converted to Islam after sexual exploitation sat on dharna in front of a mosque in Tamil Nadu. The woman and her infant have been abandoned by the Muslim man. She protested in the mosque where she was converted as the police didn’t act on her complaints.
Maheswari, daughter of Srinivasan a native of Chidambaram, worked in an ice cream parlor run by Bakim Aslam, son of Ashiq. Aslam trapped Maheswari in a relationship and sexually exploited her on the promise of marriage. But when she became pregnant, Aslam refused to marry her citing his father Ashiq’s objection.
Due to her family’s consistent efforts, Ashiq relented and agreed to marry them off on the condition that Maheswari converts to Islam. She was converted in the masjid located in Labbay Street, Cuddalore and Nikkah was performed on January 1. Maheswari became Ayesha and she was 9 months pregnant at the time of Nikkah. She gave birth to a male child on January 16.
Aslam has been missing since then and it is alleged that his father Ashiq had hidden him. Maheswari @ Ayesha alleges that Ashiq sent him abroad. She lodged a complaint with the All Women Police in Chidambaram but the police didn’t take any action. Frustrated, she went to the mosque where she was converted, along with her infant and father, to demand justice.
She was shooed away by the mosque administration. She asked them, “Aren’t you the ones who converted me and did Nikkah? That man ran away. Police also speak in his favour. My child needs her father. I need justice!”. Women police were brought to the masjid to remove them from the premises. Instead of booking Aslam and his family for cheating and leaving Ayesha, the police tried to console her and convince her to leave.
As she refused to leave she was sent out of the mosque and made to sit on the road in scorching heat to continue her protest. Police ‘assured’ her that they will call Aslam and speak to him. Amid all this, the victim’s relative announced that she had no chance but to self-immolate along with the infant if she is not served justice. Society and the education system, all teach that all religions are the same while abrahamics consider non-believers as low lives. Growing up in such an environment Hindu girls easily fall for the tricks used by abrahamics and lose their lives.
