A woman identified as Chaitra was found hanging at a rented house in Chokkahalli village of Chikkaballapur district of Karnataka, raising suspicions over the circumstances surrounding her death. According to reports, Chaitra had been living separately from her husband for around eight years and was residing with her children. Meanwhile, Islamist Shabbir had an extramarital relationship with her. Nandi Hills police visited the house and began investigating the incident.
As per Kannada Prabha reports, Islamist Shabbir, a native of Kolar, was present when Chaitra was found in a critical condition. With the assistance of neighbors, she was rushed to a hospital for treatment. However, she later succumbed to her condition. The circumstances leading to her being found hanging have raised questions, prompting police to examine the events preceding her death.
The case took a more suspicious turn after Shabbir left the scene and fled with Chaitra’s mobile phone after she was taken to the hospital. His sudden disappearance and possession of the deceased woman’s phone have become key points in the investigation. Allegations and suspicion of assault and even murder have also surfaced against Shabbir.
Police are now examining whether Chaitra’s death was a suicide or whether there was any foul play involved by the Islamist Shabbir. Investigators are expected to scrutinize the circumstances at the rented house, statements from neighbors and other witnesses, and the contents of the mobile phone, which could potentially provide crucial information about the events leading up to the incident.
The Nandi Hills police have launched an investigation into the suspicious death, while efforts are reportedly underway to trace Shabbir and establish his involvement, if any. Yet, the exact cause of death and the circumstances leading to it remain unknown. This is one such case that raises serious concerns about post-marital radical Islamic jihad, in which Hindu women are subjected to manipulation, coercion, blackmail, and, in some cases, extreme violence. Police and law enforcement authorities must treat this case with utmost seriousness, thoroughly investigate every angle, and take strict action wherever evidence of coercion, abuse, or criminality is established.
