We are living in a dangerous time, where a simple act of yours can turn your world upside down. Vijaybhai Babaria from Rajkot, Gujarat was one such person, who was a sole bread earner for his family, and because he reportedly objected to the desecration of his sacred place of worship, he was murdered mercilessly for no reason whatsoever.
The police has arrested the four Muslim youth, who murdered Vijay, who used to run a paan shop in the area. His only fault was, that he asked them not to light Ganja-laced cigarettes from the diya in a nearby mandir.
The four accused escaped after the local people gathered following their initial altercation with Vijay. The accused allegedly murdered him on the morning of the next day. Thorala police nabbed Arman alias Bondo Salimbhai Bloch, Ayan Ariybhai Solanki, Rahil Sharifbhai Sandh, and Shakil Imtiazbhai Parmar in the murder of Vijaybhai Babariya.
Vijay lived in Gujarat Housing Board quarters at Dudhsagar Road and ran a paan shop. The four accused used to light ganja cigarettes from an Akhand diya at a Shitla Mataji Mandir. As per the initial inquiry conducted by the Police, the accused brought Ganja from Jangleshwar, and they were trying to lit their cigarettes, when Vijay objected to their act.
This led to a heated argument between them, which was somehow sorted with the help of neighbors. However, the accused returned next day and started attacking Vijay with a knife. Locals tried to take him to the hospital, but unfortunately he succumbed to the lethal injuries.
The police have arrested all four Muslim youth involved in this murder and initiated the investigation and legal process to send them behind bars.
Lighting up a bidi or cigarette using the flam of a mandir diya is not only disrespectful to the deity but also highly objectionable. Those Muslim youths committed this offence deliberately.
Note that lighting of any cigarette at a mandir diya, even one not laced with ganja, is a highly disrespectful act to which any Hindu must object.
