Ghazipur: Muslim youths molest a Hindu girl, brutally assault her brother for protesting

Two Muslim youths molested a Hindu student returning from coaching in a village in Ghazipur district of UP. When the girl and her brother protested, about 11 Muslim youths armed with sticks attacked them, leaving the Hindu boy battling for life.

By the time the police and family members reached the spot, the attackers fled. The injured have been admitted to the district hospital. Based on the complaint of the injured victims, the police registered a case against eight named and three unidentified people, and one has been detained. Meanwhile, the additional Police force is deployed because of tension in the village.

The Hindu student is a resident of a village in Dildarnagar police station area. She used to go every day by bicycle to study at a coaching center located about five kilometers away. The victim was returning home on a bicycle when two Muslim youths started harassing her.

Girl’s cousin noticed the two young men who were flirting and expressed his opposition to it. On this both the youths fled from the spot. After some time, both of them along with 11 others, armed with sticks attacked the girl and her brother, and another youth from the victim family who tried to save them.

When the villagers reached the spot, the attackers ran away threatening to kill them. As soon as information about the incident was received, the police reached the spot and started investigating the matter. The family members brought both the injured to the district hospital, where victim’s cousin’s situation remains critical.

Based on the complaint of the victim, the police registered a case against eight named and three unidentified persons. In view of the tension, a sub-inspector and an Inspector-in-charge been deployed in the village on the instructions of higher officials. The Inspector-in-charge Mahesh Pal Singh said that based on the complaint, a case has been registered against Ijaz, Shamshad, Kashik, Shajid, Asif, Aftab, Bechan, Raja and three unidentified persons. The accused will be arrested soon.
