Janam TV reported that a serving jawan was brutally beaten up by the Popular Front of India (PFI) terrorists. The incident took place at Chanappara in Kollam district, Kerala. After beating up the soldier, the assailants scribbled PFI in green on his back. The attack took place on Sunday night.
Halveel Shine, who works in the Rajasthan-based Electronics and Mechanical (EME) cadre of the Bharatiya Army, was assaulted. He had gone to a friend’s house for the night before returning to work on Monday evening. Meanwhile, two strangers stopped him at a deserted place.
The duo told Shine that someone he knew was lying unconscious nearby. They took him to a rubber estate on the roadside. They were on a slope when one of the terror suspects kicked Shine from behind.
Four other PFI terror suspects appeared from the bushes, and the assault commenced. They taped the jawan’s hands and his mouth with cello tape. After being kicked from behind, the jawan was thrashed when he was on the ground.
Shine felt his assailants write something on his back. Later, he found that the assaulters had written PFI in green paint. Shine said there was no provocation, and the assailants never spoke to each other: all these point that the assault was pre-planned and an alleged conspiracy.
Shine said the assailants climbed the slope onto the road and disappeared into the darkness. Suspiciously, even though the injured jawan informed the local police, he was asked to come down on Monday to file a complaint. The jawan responded that he would file a complaint at Pangode Military Station in Thiruvananthapuram.
Attacks against serving military personnel on leave have increased sharply recently. PFI infiltration in Kerala Police has been well documented. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan handles the home portfolio and is more interested in Muslim appeasement for vote-bank politics. Experts mentioned that the pattern seen in Kerala reminds one of Kashmir in the 1990s.
