Delhi: Faizan and 2 others tried to rob a Jewellery Shop in Karawal Nagar

A renowned jewellery shop of Karawal Nagar area of Delhi has witnessed a failed attempt of daylight robbery. Three men have tried to rob a jewellery shop and while fleeing, two of them snatched the motorcycle of a passerby.

According to police, this unfortunate incident took place at Prem Vihar, where the three men came to rob at Jai Durga Jewellers. The shop owner told police that they were serving a number of customers, when the gunmen, wearing helmets, barged into the shop and tried to threaten them.

“They took away the jewellery kept on the shop’s counter at gunpoint. When they were trying to run away, the staff somehow managed to caught one of them, and also snatched his pistol,” a police officer said.

One accused Faizan (26) was caught by the shop’s staff. He has been identified as a resident of Nand Nagari, which is a Muslim majority area. According to the Police, Faizan was facing three criminal cases and had recently come out of jail on bail. Police has also seized a pistol with four live cartridges from him.

Police have also seized the two motorcycles left behind by the robbers. Several teams have been formed to nab the two accused, meanwhile Police is interrogating Faizan to retrieve more information from him.
