In a horrifying act of Islamist extremism, the mutilated body of Hindu youth Deepak Kumar, an eyewitness in a gang rape case, was found on January 8 in a forested area near Sector 62, Faridabad. Deepak, who had bravely saved a minor girl from being gang-raped and served as a key witness leading to the arrest of three Islamist individuals, was abducted on December 16. OpIndia reports confirm he had been beheaded, his hands amputated, and his body left to rot in the wilderness.
Deepak’s family had immediately reported his abduction and accused several Islamist individuals—Mohammad Fakaruddin, Md. Idrish, Md. Anwar, Md. Azahruddin, Ms. Azaad, Md. Sohail, Md. Saabir, Md. Aamir, Md. Saahil, and Md. Akeesh—of involvement in the crime. According to the family, Deepak had been facing relentless threats from Islamist groups, who warned him against testifying in court. The extremists were allegedly determined to silence him after his courageous stand exposed their heinous crimes, making him a target of their vengeful actions.
The decomposed body, abandoned in nearby bushes, was in a grievously mutilated state, with some fingers and toes missing, adding to the family’s grief upon identification. Deepak’s family resides in Sector 62 and had been actively searching for him since his disappearance. His brother, Dileep, confirmed that he was last seen on December 16. After weeks of searching, they were informed about the discovery of a body, which was later identified as Deepak’s.
Police spokesperson Yashpal Singh stated that a missing person report had been registered, and efforts to locate Deepak had been ongoing since the day he was reported missing. The body has now been sent for a postmortem at the Badhshah Khan Civil Hospital as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding his death.
A copy of the complaint filed by Deepak Kumar’s brother, Dileep, has surfaced on social media. In his complaint, Dileep named individuals, including Fakruddin, Idris, Anwar, Azad, Sohail, and others, as being involved in a feud with Deepak. According to the complaint, the hostility stemmed from Deepak’s role as a key witness in a case involving a minor girl, in which the accused were the individuals mentioned by Dileep.
A Twitter post has gone viral, calling for support for the family of Deepak Kumar, who was brutally murdered for standing up against injustice. The post shares the UPI ID of his brother, Dileep, urging people to extend help during these challenging times. The message honors Deepak’s sacrifice, stating, “Deepak attained Veergati for standing up for righteousness.” Social media users have expressed outrage and solidarity, with many sharing the post to ensure widespread support for the grieving family.
