Christian DMK corporator threatens with rape for filing land grabbing complaint

A Christian DMK corporator has been booked on land grabbing and sexual harassment charges. He tried to usurp the 5 acre land of a fellow Christian family and threatened to rape their womenfolk for filing a complaint against him. Yet he roams free even after filing multiple complaints.

Yesu Rakshagan, DMK councilor in Rishivandhiyam area near Kallakurichi has been accused of trying to grab a Christian family’s property and threatening to rape the daughters of the family for filing a complaint. Andrew Vincent of Sutthamalai village in Kallakurichi owns a 5-acre property. While he works in Bengaluru, his family stays in the village. They have been farming on the property and sowed sugarcane recently.

Yesu Rakshagan has been eyeing the property for a long time and tried to usurp it. He went to the field with a gang of hooligans and reaped the sugarcanes. He also sent it to the sugar factory where Andrew’s family had registered for their produce to be sold and obtained the Rs 5 lakh payments as well.

Following this, Andrew’s wife lodged a complaint at the local police station against Yesu Rakshagan. But the next day itself, he arrived at the former’s house with rowdies and abused them for filing a complaint against him. Andrew’s daughter tearfully explained the sequence of events to the media. She said, “They came to our house when our menfolk were not around. Myself, my sister, mom and aunt were in the house. Yesu Rakshagan threatened us, saying “I’ll see how you people remain alive after filing a complaint against me.”

She further described the horrible turn of events saying, “My sister was trying to record their act. They grabbed her by her hair and tore her clothes. When my aunt tried to stop them they slammed her against the wall repeatedly”. As per her account, both of them were thrown to the floor and Yesu Rakshagan’s father said, “Give me 10 minutes with these two bitches. I’ll prove my manhood. See how I impregnate them in 10 minutes”. All the women despite their age were molested and sexually harassed in this manner in their own house.

Yesu Rakshagan

In the end, Yesu Rakshagan told them that their efforts would not pay as he has power and they cannot do anything against him. Reportedly, he also demanded them to sign the papers transferring the property to him. Following inaction from local police, Andrew’s daughter met the Kallakurichi Superintendent of Police and sought action against the corporator. While the affected women have been admitted in hospital, Yesu Rakshagan hasn’t yet been arrested despite being booked under 5 sections of the Indian Penal Code.

DMK has a reputation for land grabbing and treating women badly. Late CM Jayalalitha had included a promise to retrieve the properties of those who lost theirs during the DMk rule in between 2006-2011 in the 2011 election manifesto. After she became CM in 2011 she constituted a special cell to investigate land grabbing cases. In the initial few days itself as many as 1,449 complaints were received from those who lost their properties.

The dark age of 2006-11 seems to be returning with DMK leaders at all rungs showing their real faces. If a Christian DMK corporator treated a fellow Christian family in such a manner, how Hindus will fair under a blatantly anti-Hindu government is left to the readers’ imagination.
