In a shocking incident that has sent shock waves through the Hindu community, a one-year-old Hindu toddler girl was subjected to a horrifying assault of rape in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, on February 17th. The Islamist predator, identified as Mohammad Bhondu Rehman, aged 50, lured the innocent child under the guise of offering candies, after which he abducted her from the residence.
According to preliminary reports, the Islamist offender mercilessly assaulted the toddler, showing cruelty and subjecting her to a brutal rape that resulted in severe injuries, including profuse bleeding. The child’s condition quickly deteriorated, necessitating urgent medical intervention. As soon as information was received about the incident, a case was registered against the offender under IPC and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act.
The victim, whose identity remains undisclosed to protect her privacy, was rushed to the district hospital and later shifted to Lucknow, where she is currently receiving critical care. Medical professionals attending to her have described her condition as grave, and explained the condition she suffered due to excessive bleeding, highlighting the severity of the assault she endured.
Following swift action by law enforcement authorities, Mohammad Bhondu Rehman was arrested shortly after the incident came to light. The police have confirmed his arrest and stated that he is currently in custody pending further investigation.
The heinous nature of the crime has sparked outrage and condemnation from across the region, with Hindu community members and activists demanding justice for the innocent victim and her family. Authorities have assured the public that they are committed to ensuring that the criminal psychopath is held accountable to the fullest extent of the law.
This is not the first case of rape and harassment against minor Hindu girls, based on recent reports, more than 3–4 cases in 2024 have been recorded in nearby districts of UP. Last month, a similar incident surfaced in Kanpur, UP, where a minor girl forcefully converted to Islam and was raped by an Islamist using a fake Hindu identity.
