In a significant breakthrough, the Assam Police have successfully busted a Fake Indian Currency Notes(FICN) printing racket in Guwahati. The Police also arrested the mastermind of the racket, a Muslim youth named Mannan Mallik. Also, FICN Notes worth of 8 lac rupees have been confiscated.
As per Police, based on the information from secret sources, a team was formed and a meticulously planned operation was executed successfully on Friday night in Lokhra area of the town. During this operation, Police managed to seize a sophisticated fake currency printing machine.
The value of the seized fake currency notes is estimated to be around 8 lac. rupees. Police official said, “We are rigorously interrogating the arrested person. We want to unearth the whole network to which he is associated.”
Mannan Mallik is the resident of Barpeta district. He managed to rent a home in Guwahati town and from there he was printing and distributing high quality fake Indian Currency Notes.
