Assam: Four Bangladeshi Muslim infiltrators are detained in Karimganj

Assam Police apprehended four individuals from Bangladesh at the Indo-Bangladesh border in Karimganj district.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Sohil Hawladar, Shah Alam, Sourab Hawladar, and Md Kawsar.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma praised the Assam Police for their successful operation.

In his post in X, Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “In yet another successful pushback operation of illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators, Assam Police managed to apprehend and send back to Bangladesh the following individuals through the Karimganj border.”

However, amid political unrest in Bangladesh in recent times, infiltration attempts have been happening regularly. Bangladeshi Muslim citizens are illegally entering into Bharat through the different states of North-East. In recent times, Bangladeshi Muslim infiltrators were arrested from Tripura and Assam. Also, BSF is maintaining strong vigilance along the Bharat-Bangladesh international borders.
