In the Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh, an SC (Dalit) family belonging to the Valmiki caste is facing threats and pressure from influential Muslims in their village. The family, led by Sadhuram, has filed a complaint with the Saharanpur police, stating that they are being coerced to either convert to Islam or vacate their land.

Sadhuram mentioned in his complaint that he has been living in Kundakala village since 1967, having moved there due to a flood in their previous town. He reported that a group of individuals, including Aslam, Niaz, Ejaz, Sonu, Aamir, Kamil, Salim, and Kala, is threatening them to seize their land.

According to Sadhuram, these individuals are pressuring his family with threats, saying, “You must convert to Islam, or we will kill you and take possession of all the land.” Due to the intimidation, some of his family members have already left home and moved to different cities. Sadhuram also alleged that these individuals had captured the land for the Panchayat Bhawan in the village.

Speaking to the media, Sadhuram explained, “We are the only Valmiki household in Kundakala village, surrounded by Muslim residents. They assaulted me and are now trying to take over my home, demanding that we either leave or convert to Islam.”

Sadhuram further claimed that these individuals have a history of converting Hindus and illegally occupying their land. He also accused them of arms smuggling and alleged that women from Hindu families were being molested. Sadhuram has called on the police to take action against these individuals for the safety of his family and the community.
