Police in Purnia district of Bihar has arrested 2 men and 2 women for running a conversion racket by fooling people to attain ‘immortality’ by becoming Christian. The missionary gang came from Kathmandu, Nepal, reports Hindi daily Prabhat Khabar.
This matter came into light when on Thursday, 13th December, 2018, few people protested outside the Police Station in Gandhinagar area. They told the police that some missionaries are fooling people by telling them that they can escape death if they accept Christianity.
Witness also described their way to convert people. First, they used to take a man inside a room where he was asked to remove the clothes and wear the ones given by the missionaries. After that, he was asked to read the holy book and then drink a so-called ‘magical’ liquid. Then he was told that now he has become immortal, he has escaped death and can never die. Not only this, he was also offered a bribe of Rupees Five Thousand.
Witnesses Rajkumar, Shubham Jha and Shivanand Jha also told that the missionaries asked them to fill up a form. According to the complainants, this group has 7 women and 4 men. They were living as tenants in a home in that area since past 3 months.
As soon as this news got spread, the volunteers of VHP and Sriram Sena protested outside the police station and demanded to lodge a FIR immediately. Police said that they have been enquiring the arrested people.
