TMC MLA Humayun Kabir threatened to drown Hindus in the Bhagirathi River, the video went viral: West Bengal

TMC MLA Humayun Kabir openly threatened Hindus with dire consequences if they did not behave ‘rightly.’ In an undated video, he made hateful remarks about the Hindus of the Murshidabad district of West Bengal. Notably, the Hindus are the minority community in the Murshidabad district.

Humayun Kabir said, “We are 70 per cent here; you are 30 per cent. If you do not behave here, I can throw you in the Bhagirathi river within two hours.” He further said, “You are the majority in the area, that’s why you people broke a mosque in Kazipara. What do you think? Muslim brothers of the rest of the district will remain silent? Never. I want to tell this to the people of BJP.”

Recently, on the occasion of Ram Navami, the Beldanga area of the Murshidabad district saw anti-Hindu violence. Islamic radicals attacked the Ram Navami Shobhayatra in Beldanga. Country-made crude bombs were hurled at the Shobha Yatra. Hindus retaliated. Later, a huge police force reached the area and controlled the situation. However, Hindus alleged that the Police failed to give them justice.

This is not the first time TMC MLA Humayun Kabir has been at the center of controversy. He previously sparked internal conflicts by opposing the nomination of former cricket player Yusuf Pathan for the Baharampur Lok Sabha seat, dismissing him as an “outsider.” Additionally, Kabir’s calls for increased Muslim representation within the party ranks have led to further discord.
