In Kerala, a Christian man brutally beat up his heart patient mother after being angry that she did not serve him beef curry. Juni Koshy (76) was beaten up by her son in Ernakulam city. She is being treated at the hospital with severe injuries to her chest and limbs.
Ernakulam Central Police arrested her son Elvin Koshy (47) in the incident. The brutal thrashing happened last Thursday morning. Koshy knew that Juni was alive thanks to an artificial cardiac pacemaker attached to her heart.
Juni lives with her two children. The elder son and his family were not at home on the day of the incident.
In the morning, Koshy came home drunk with beef and demanded that beef curry be served immediately. But when his mother told him that she could not prepare it right away, Koshy got angry and brutally beat Juni.
The accused hit Juni on her head, knocking her out, and then kicked her in the chest.
Juni ran out of their house to escape from her son’s beatings and sought shelter in a nearby women’s hostel. However, Koshy, who followed her here, beat her with a chapati stick in the hostel as well. Juni tried to run away from here but was stopped, and the thrashing continued.
Some hostel staff and occupants saw this and rescued Juni. The police learned about the incident when human rights activists accessed the footage recorded by the hostel staff. Then, the police arrived and arrested Koshy.
The police have arrested Koshy for beating his mother before. At that time, Juni refused to file a complaint. The police said that the pacemaker was not damaged even though she was subjected to brutal trouncing on her chest.
Is consuming beef creating imbalances in the human body, particularly during heatwaves? Local Christians have a habit of trying to incite Hindus by conversing about beef, especially while we are forced to have our vegetarian food in Abrahamic-owned eateries that serve meat (including beef). Most hotels are halal-compliant, non-Hindu-owned establishments.
Violence against aged parents and in-laws at the hands of their young narcotic drug/alcohol-addicted children is on the rise in Kerala. The Karma News reported that Koshy was released at night on a police station bail.
