Mohd Imtiaz attacked Hindu ‘girlfriend’ & her mother after family arranges her marriage: Maharashtra

In a crime reported from Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Mohammad Imtiaz attacked his Hindu ‘girlfriend’ and her mother. The incident occurred in the city’s Maheshnagar Area around 11 AM on Wednesday (22 May).

According to available information, the girl’s family opposed her inter-religion relationship. Hence, they arranged her marriage with a Hindu boy who happened to be known to the family. When Mohammad Imtiaz learned about this, he first slashed his hand. Subsequently, he followed the girl’s mother and tried to slit her throat with the knife. The woman defended herself and, in the process, received injuries to her hand. The woman was admitted to a private hospital for treatment.

The accused, Imtiaz, confronted the victim, who asked him to stay away from her daughter. It was then that he attacked himself and, subsequently, the victim with the knife. Locals and autorickshaw drivers at the place of the attack caught hold of the accused. However, he managed to escape. The victim registered a police complaint at the Jinsi Police Station. Further investigations are underway.
