In a disturbing turn of events in Sitamarhi, Bihar, a suspected trafficker has been apprehended by authorities for allegedly attempting to traffic a minor Hindu girl under the guise of ‘love’. The suspect, identified as an Islamist, Mohamad Tauqeer, who works as a tailor, was intercepted by the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) as he attempted to transport the girl to Nepal.
The incident unfolded when vigilant SSB officers became suspicious of Islamist Tauqeer and the minor girl traveling together. Upon further investigation, it was revealed that Tauqeer had reportedly lured the young girl into a relationship and was in the process of trafficking her across borders.
According to initial reports, Tauqeer claimed that he intended to take the girl to Kerala via Nepal. However, authorities acted swiftly to prevent the potential trafficking of the minor and promptly arrested Tauqeer. The timely intervention of the SSB has potentially averted a grave situation. The arrest underscores the ongoing challenges posed by human trafficking, particularly the exploitation of minors, in various parts of the country.
The Bihar police have taken custody of Tauqeer and the minor girl, and further investigations are underway to ascertain the full extent of the trafficking scheme and any possible accomplices involved. Authorities are also urging members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or individuals to law enforcement agencies.
As the investigation progresses, efforts are being intensified to ensure the protection of vulnerable individuals, particularly minors, from falling victim to human trafficking and exploitation, especially targeting Hindus. Based on reports from ETV Bharat, a minor girl was rescued and four human traffickers were arrested by the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) at the Indo-Nepal border in Bihar’s Sitamarhi in December 2023. It is evident that incidents of Hindu minors being targeted for Islamist trafficking of girls are not isolated occurrences. This underscores the urgent need for the Hindu community to be vigilant and aware of this heinous act. Given that this is not the first instance of such trafficking, it is imperative that authorities take decisive action to prevent its recurrence.
