When controversial American billionaire George Soros bragged about “Soros Empire replacing Soviet Empire”

George Soros is a Hungarian-American Jewish investor and hedge fund manager who is one of the wealthiest men on the planet. Soros is also a controversial socio-political activist and has donated vast amounts of money for the cause of ‘open societies’ aka one-size-fits-all Western liberalism. He heads Open Society Foundations, a grantmaking network that financially supports civil society groups around the world, with a stated aim of ‘advancing justice, education, public health and independent media’.

A video has emerged of Soros speaking at a program organized by Asia Society in New York, USA on April 20, 2015. Asia Society is a non-profit founded in 1956 by American billionaire Rockefeller to ‘study Asia’ and promote ‘greater knowledge’ about it in the USA. Such non-profits are an integral part of promoting and maintaining American hegemony, and their murky role in Asia and Bharat is well documented.

In a session titled “When Societies Open,” Soros and moderator Orville Schell assessed progress, or the lack thereof, in nearly a dozen nations where Soros and his Open Society Foundations have sought to ‘assist transitions’ to democracy and economic reform.

“When the Soviet Union..Soviet Empire collapsed, I moved in and picked up the pieces. First in Hungary in 1984, then in Poland in 87, China in 87 as well. So this is how, the Soros Empire (is) replacing the Soviet Empire,” says Soros with a smile in the clip above.

“How do you think you are doing in your imperial ambitions?,” the moderator asks, also smilingly. The entire video can be seen here.

“You take Russia, which is actually where I am most involved currently. At the time of the collapse of the Soviet Union, you had a moribund Soviet Union (Russia) and an emerging European Union – unfortunately, you now have the reverse – a resurgent Russia and disintegrating EU. But the Foundation has made a contribution, so I consider it a success. My main involvement is Ukraine, where there is a new Ukraine eager to be part of EU…the people involved, inside govt. and civil society, have somehow been in contact with the Foundation. It’s very gratifying.”

In the discussion, Soros also mentioned Baltic nations (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania- former members of USSR) as ‘success stories’, and warned that a “resurgent Russia” was threatening not only reforms in the former Soviet Union but also the power and influence of the European Union. He also chastised Russian President Vladimir Putin for his ‘actions in Ukraine’ (US government and groups like Soros’ Open Societies Foundation had triggered a coup in Ukraine through the Euromaidan protests in 2013/14) and his ‘stranglehold’ on public opinion. “Putin won’t change,” Soros said.

Soros also mentions that he opened a foundation in 1984 in China, but closed it in 1989 as they were ‘not welcome’ there. He also says that the West should have involved China and other developing countries in running the Bretton Wood institutions (World Bank and IMF), as they are now forming their own rival networks.

Interestingly, most of the causes that Soros espouses dovetail almost perfectly with those of the American deep state establishment. He also almost never speaks up against the disastrous legacy of supremacist Abrahamic fundamentalism, such as Christian evangelism and Islamism that continue to oppress, destroy and dehumanize indigenous cultures and peoples across the globe.

It is also true that Soros faces attacks, often laced with anti-Semitic tropes, from the Christian right. This, and the fact that he has to live as a Jew in Christian USA, could explain why he is muted on the threat to global diversity and plurality that Christian proselytization poses. But his guarded silence on repressive and fascist Islamic nations like Pakistan has no such easy explanation.

Soros has been one of the leading voices behind the Western liberal propaganda against PM Modi ‘s government – calling it the  “biggest and most frightening setback to the survival of open societies” and repeating usual falsehoods about CAA and abrogation of Article 370 in Kashmir being anti-Muslim acts. ‘Liberals’ like Soros nurse delusions of grandeur and believe they have a God-given right to judge what is right and wrong for people across the world. Blinded by moral certainty of their political, social and economic ideology, such liberals form an echo chamber where diversity of thought – the very thing they ironically claim to be fighting for- is lost and indigenous knowledge systems like Dharmic traditions are smeared as ‘regressive and backward’.

Bharat is definitely high on the “regime change” agenda of such Western liberal imperialists and their local sepoy assistants.
