“Perils of Ideological Blindness: How a Muslim Migrant Romanced and Murdered Jamey Carney”, StopHinduDvesha, 16 Sep 2026.
“The town of Killarney, Ireland, was in the middle of its busiest tourist season — jarveys and buses clattering past the lakes, the Summer in Killarney festival in full swing — when tragedy struck. On the afternoon of July 7th, a family member let herself into a rented house on the Muckross Road and found 43-year-old Jamey Carney dead upstairs. Her thirteen-year-old daughter, who lived with her, had raised the alarm that lunchtime after growing worried that her mother was not answering her calls. By the time the police and paramedics arrived, Carney had been dead for hours. [1]
Originally from Westchester County, New York, Carney had deep family ties to Ireland through her grandparents. According to relatives, in 2021 she had relocated to the country, drawn by what she perceived as a more progressive, compassionate society. She settled in Killarney, worked for a healthcare consulting firm in nearby Tralee, and quickly became part of the local community. Over time, she became increasingly involved in pro-Palestine activism, gradually drawn into a movement that would become an increasingly significant part of her life.

[2] Later, the authorities disclosed she was beaten with the heavy lid of a toilet cistern before being suffocated with a hand over her mouth. Her body was concealed under a blanket in her bedroom. [3]
The police quickly identified a man they described as a “person of significant interest” — someone Carney knew who had been living in Ireland for more than a year while his application for international protection was being processed and who, according to reports, had stayed at her home at times. [4] His name was Ahmed Al-Saqar, a Jordanian national living in Ireland in taxpayer-funded accommodation. Carney had previously described him on social media in glowing terms, calling him one of the “most kind, emotionally intelligent, and self-aware” people she knew and sharing affectionate posts and photographs of him.
Al-Saqar met Carney at a pro-Palestinian rally in Killarney around 18 months ago. Earlier this year, he posted a TikTok video celebrating their marriage, captioning footage of Carney wearing a ring, “My bride and my princess.” Al-Saqar, who was allowed to remain in Ireland despite having his asylum application rejected, also told Muslim friends that the couple had married in an Islamic ceremony, suggesting that he had persuaded Carney to convert to Islam.
