Today, on the 25th of November, the Bangladesh Police arrested the Hindu leader Sri Chinmay Krishna Das Prabhu from Dhaka’s Shahjalal International Airport. As of now, he is in the custody of Detective Branch, an elite branch of Bangladesh Police.
Additional Commissioner of Police, Dhaka Mahanagar, Rejaul Mallick confirmed Chinmay Krishna Das Prabhu’s arrest. He said that Chinmay Krishna was arrested at the airport when he was to catch a flight to the Chattragram.
The Commissioner also said that Chinmay Krishna Das Prabhu will be handed over to the Chattragram Police.
Notably, a complaint of Sedition and blasphemy was filed in Kotwali Police Station in Chattragram town. A person named Muhammad Firoz Khan has filed that complaint. Based on that complaint, the Police started a case of Sedition against Chinmay Krishna Das Prabhu and 14 others.
However, sources say that the Bangladesh Government is trying to crush the movement of the Hindu minorities by putting Chinmay Krishna Das behind bars.
However, in several parts of Bangladesh, Hindu minorities are coming out to the streets against the arrest of Sri Chinmay Krishna Das Prabhu. Protest rallies are already going on in Barishal, Chattragram and Dhaka.
