Idols of Goddess Durga of Sri Sri Gopinath Jiur Akhara were vandalized by some miscreants at Batrish Residential Area near Narasunda Road in the Kishoreganj district headquarters in Bangladesh at dawn on Tuesday, 3rd of October.
During the early morning hours, the incident took place in the temple. Local minority Hindu community feels insecurity following this incident.
According to the temple committee, members of the puja celebration committee went to sleep in the temple on Thursday night at the temple’s Natmandir.
Later, in the early morning of Thursday , they woke up and saw that the idols were vandalized.
When the matter was reported to the president of the temple committee, he informed the police about the matter.
Deputy commissioner of Kishoreganj District, Police Super, Officials of Rapid Action Battalion and Army visited the sopt. None was arrested so far in this regard.
