Local sources said that some Islamists, backed by the powerful political leaders of BNP(Bangladesh Nationalist Party) attacked the Hindu families. Those Islamists earlier threatened the family to leave the area. The Islamists also demanded huge amounts of money from the Hindu families. The Hindu families were unable to pay them money as they are poor. So, armed Islamists came to evict the Hindu families.

After one hour, the police came and recovered the injured Hindu minorities and took them to the hospital. At least, ten Hindu minorities were injured.

Local Hindus alleged that during the attack, some family members desperately trying to contact the police. But, the police didn’t come. The police reached the spot after Islamists had fled.
