“The arrest of Arvind Kejariwal first evoked a comment by Germany and later by the US. Many questions are raised by unwarranted comments by both countries. Those who are following the social and political trajectory of Arvind Kejriwal are not surprised by the knee jerk reaction of both countries; he is an asset created by the US and apprehending the disturbance of plans of its toolkit designed for Bharat, the country is getting upset.

One has to understand the modus operandi of intelligence organisations of creation of assets in adversary as well as in friendly countries. While active assets are covert and underground, passive ones are overt and overground. We can discuss one example in this context; during the Cold War period, both KGB and CIA, intelligence agencies of the USSR and the USA respectively were fighting turf wars in Bharat like those played out in many other countries.

Vasili Mitrokhin, a former KGB operative wrote in his book about agents planted in the Bhartiya government by the Soviet spy agency. Obviously that can be classified as acts of creating active assets, however, the real success of the agencies lied in creation and nurturing of passive assets…..”
