Tripura: Bangladeshi and Iranian nationals arrested with suspected Pakistan link

Infiltration through unfenced borders along Bharat-Bangladesh continues. This time, police arrested a Bangladeshi citizen and an Iranian citizen for illegally entering Bharat. 

The arrested are indentifed as Yakub Yazadanbakah, Iranian citizen and Shahin Mondal, Bangladeshi citizen. 

They were arrested by Tripura police on June 20 from Aswini Market area in the outskirts of Agartala. 

Based on inputs about two persons roaming in the market, a mobile patrol team of the Amtoli Police station reached there. Police detained them and took them to police station. There they failed to provide any valid travel documents. After that, they police arrested them. 

Police also confiscated their mobile phones. During checking, investigation officers found videos and pictures of Pakistani militant camps in their phones. 

They were produced before West Tripura District court and was sent to five days police custody. A police official said, “We suspect terror links based in Pakistan. The duo entered Bharat through Bangladesh. As investigation is going on, we can’t comment more on that.”
