Akhanda Tamil Ulagam to hold its fourth conference for three days from 5 Jan

Akhanda Tamil Ulagam will hold its fourth Conference in Coimbatore from January 5 to 7, 2024. This significant event aims to unite the global Tamil diaspora under the theme “LEAD THE WORLD.”

Much like its predecessors, this Conference serves as a platform to:

  • Delve into the historical and contemporary factors shaping the vibrancy of the Tamil Tradition.
  • Analyze the challenges confronting the practical manifestation of the timeless Tamil tradition in everyday life.
  • Explore avenues to immerse the Tamil community worldwide in the perpetual currents of Divine Tamil heritage.

Previous conferences organized by Akhanda Tamil Ulagam have been notable successes. The initial two conferences of the Akhanda Tamil Ulagam were held in Chennai and Vellore, drawing Tamil participants from across the globe. The third Conference, conducted online in March 2021 over three days with 27 sessions, saw the participation of 2212 attendees from 47 countries.

ABOUT AKHANDA TAMIL ULAGAM

The Tamil diaspora represents most of the Tamil Hindu population in various countries. Despite facing challenges and hardships, the diaspora has established roots in host countries, becoming a permanent demographic feature. Their dedicated efforts to preserve the Tamil language and cultural traditions in their daily lives are commendable.

However, certain regions witness the younger generation of the Tamil diaspora grappling with distractions and unfavourable environments that pose a threat to their Tamil cultural identity passed down by their forefathers. Recognizing this, there is an urgent need to practice, preserve, and promote the rich Tamil tradition and culture among the Tamil diaspora.

Akhanda Tamil Ulagam is committed to bringing together the global Tamil Hindu diaspora to address these challenges. The Conference provides a forum for sharing wisdom, values, and experiences while also critically examining the obstacles faced by the Tamil community in upholding and transmitting this vibrant culture to future generations.

OBJECTIVES OF AKHANDA TAMIL ULAGAM

  1. Explore the rich elements of ancient Tamil language and culture, devising practical steps for practising, promoting, preserving, and passing them on to future generations.
  2. Share global business opportunities among members, facilitating access to local information and resources.
  3. Guide the Tamil diaspora in identifying educational opportunities worldwide that align with their interests and values.
  4. Study, spread, and share the scientific knowledge the ancient Tamil civilization put forth, taking measures to disseminate this wisdom to humanity.
  5. Respond to the emerging needs of worldwide Tamil communities during calamities, providing the necessary support mechanisms and engaging in voluntary service (Seva) activities to preserve and promote the Tamil language and culture.

A MESSAGE TO THE GLOBAL TAMIL COMMUNITY

The ancient and vibrant Tamil culture stands as a radiant jewel in the crown of Bharatiya cultural heritage. As proud heirs of Bharat and custodians of a rich cultural legacy, the Tamil community is experiencing an era of great significance.

In 2023, we celebrate a host of achievements, triumphing over a daunting pandemic, executing one of the largest vaccination programs in history, extending support to the global community with vaccines and medicines, and popularizing digital payments on a massive scale – all extraordinary feats for our nation.

The diverse revivals of the country’s spiritual tradition, the restoration of ancient temples in Varanasi, and the reconstruction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya are noteworthy accomplishments for us to rejoice in. This year also marks the bicentenary celebrations of Ramalinga Adigalar (Vallalar Swamigal), who established his spiritual empire in Vadalur.

The recent Kashi Tamil Sangamam highlighted the inseparable bond between Tamil heritage and Bharat’s ancient spiritual tradition. The installation of ‘Sengol’ in the new parliament building boldly declares to the world that Tamil heritage is an admirable part of Bharatiya tradition and way of life.

In this momentous period, convening the 4th Akhanda Tamil Ulagam Conference would fulfil the envisioned objectives for the global Tamil community.
