The self-professed human rights champions in the western world who keep on ranting about human rights violations in J&K and Assam have taken 100 years to apologise for the bloody massacre of men, women and children in Jallianwala Bagh by their own General gone berserk.
The Archbishop of Canterbury took 100 years to apologise for the cold-blooded murder of helpless, unarmed and innocent Bharatiyas who had gathered for a peaceful protest. Even then, he made a meal of the apology by getting his facts wrong. And mind you, this apology has not come officially from the government of UK which projects itself as a guardian of human rights while its own hands are stained in blood of innocents.
These self-acclaimed custodians of human rights have a dark history of not only human right violations, but meting out atrocities and killing humans in cold blood. The high commissioner of human rights at UNHRC, Michelle Bachelet, voiced concerns about curbs and restrictions in Kashmir valley. This came after the US state department and the UK foreign secretary raised their concerns on curbs in Kashmir and delivered their sermons on Kashmir.
The US has a history of abetting and promoting anarchy, political instability and unrest in the whole world, be it Chile, Nicaragua, Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, Vietnam, the Korean peninsula or the Persian gulf, and it has a blind ally in Britain. It has doled out millions of dollars to a terror state like Pakistan knowing fully well that those funds are being used by Pakistan to train and send terrorists to the same Kashmir for which the US State department acts so concerned.
The crux of the matter is that the US is indirectly responsible for the killings of more than 42,000 people who have lost their lives due to state-sponsored terrorism by Pakistan, an ally of the US in this region. The UK foreign secretary Dominic Raab, reflecting a deep imperial hangover and conveniently forgetting the colonial havoc wreaked on Bharat, sermonised “The issue of human rights is not just a bilateral issue of Bharat and Pakistan or a domestic issue but an international issue.”
The same foreign secretary permitted violent demonstrations by Pakistanis & Khalistani separatists in front of our High Commission in London on 15th August. When our PM, taking strong offence, spoke to his British counterpart, the latter apologised but that apology proved farcical as on September 3rd a bigger violent protest against Bharat was allowed outside its High Commission.
The so-called peaceful protesters numbering almost 10,000, most of rogue and terror state Pakistan-origin, not only manhandled British Indians, but also vandalised the High Commission building while the London police was a mute spectator.
Though Bharat has effectively rebutted and ridiculed Pakistan’s Kashmir bogey at the UNHRC, more needs to be done to counter this charade mounted by Pakistan which has caught the eye of the American and Britisher establishments.
The US State Department’s reaction or advice to Bharat on Kashmir stemmed from the bombardment of its desk by Pakistani-Americans who raised the Kashmir bogey to a crescendo in order to evoke a favourable response from the US and a couple of Senators. The statement urges the largest democracy of the world “To respect human rights and restore access to services such as internet & mobile networks, the resumption of political engagement with local leaders and the scheduling of promised elections at the earliest opportunity.”
If the US, which has a habit of acting like a world policeman, had acted with some responsibility and restraint and had shunned its opportunism while dealing with Pakistan, the Modi government would not have felt the need to impose restrictions in J&K due to fear of violence & incitement by cross-border terrorists & radicals, threats to which America conveniently turns a blind eye.
These double standards being followed by both the US and UK need to be taken head on by Bharat and Pakistan needs to be named and shamed at every international forum incessantly, so that those who have been indirectly helping terrorists by aiding Pakistan financially & diplomatically think twice before lecturing Bharat about human rights.
Bharat needs to up the ante diplomatically and should launch an all out diplomatic blitzkrieg to not only shame Pakistan but also those who are supporting this terrorist nation and hoodwinking the entire world by delivering sermons on human rights.
Another immediate step that Bharat needs to do immediately is expose the human right abuses, inhuman practices and atrocities being dished out by Pakistan on minorities in PoJK, Gilgit Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Then we should judge how these self-proclaimed apostles of human rights like the US, UK and United Nations react.
