After the rally of TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee, a BJP worker is murdered in Nandigram, armed TMC-backed goons allegedly attacked BJP workers in the Manasa Bazaar area of Sonachura of Nandigram.

The deceased BJP worker is identified as Rathibala Ari. She was stabbed with sharp weapons—also, seven other BJP workers were injured in the attack.

As per the local sources, for the last few days, armed TMC-backed goons were allegedly entering several villages and threatening BJP supporters. To prevent this, a group of BJP workers were guarding the Manasa Bazaar area.

Yesterday night, on the 22nd of May, armed TMC-backed goons allegedly attacked BJP workers. They beat and stabbed BJP workers. BJP workers tried to resist the attack but failed. Several were stabbed in the head and other parts of the body.

Locals took injured BJP workers to the Nandigram Hospital. There, Rathibala Ari succumbed to injuries. Seven other injured BJP workers were undergoing treatment. Among them, the son of the deceased Rathibala Ari was also seriously injured.

Suvendu Adhikari, BJP MLA from the Nandigram constituency, targeted TMC-backed goons for this murder. He alleged that due to the provocation of ‘bhaipo’, this murder occurred. He also alleged that Jihadi elements were behind this attack.
