The West Bengal government has started a special initiative for its employees and pensioners. As per the directive, a bonus of 6,800 INR will be granted to select government employees who are not covered under any bonus system and earn a monthly salary of less than 44,000 INR as of March 2024. This move by the Mamata Banerjee-led government aims to provide monetary assistance to eligible employees.
The government will also provide the bonus to the Muslim employees ahead of the Eid-ul-Fitr. According to the state finance department, employees from the Muslim community will receive their bonus ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr. Other employees will receive monetary support between September 15 and 19.
Besides, pensioners will receive a payment of 3,500 INR as per the scheme. Apart from that, the government has decided to provide an interest-free advance of up to 20,000 INR to the employees who earn 52,000 INR salary per month.
