“Karnataka: ‘Don’t repeal Anti-Cow Slaughter Act’ say state farmers associations”, Times of India, June 14, 2023:

“Farmers led by Kuruburu Shanthakumar, president of the Federation of Karnataka State Farmers Associations, held a ‘gopuja’ and protested urging the state government not to repeal the Karnataka PRevention of Cow Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Act.

Farmers performed puja to the cows and launched the save cow campaign. “It is a movement and it will be carried out across the state. If the law is repealed, we will lay siege to Vidhan Soudha,” warned Shanthakumar.

“We are supporting the demands to repeal the Farm Reforms Act, and APMC Reforms Act. However, we want the state government to continue the Karnataka Prevention of Cow Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Act….”
