Give separate nation to 25 crore Indian Muslims: Congress spokesperson

Congress spokesperson Ajay Verma has dared the Modi Government to create ‘another Pakistan’ for 20-25 crore Indian Muslims, and then declare India as a ‘Hindu Rashtra’. He made this astounding comment during a live debate on the Zee News channel over the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) that many Indian Muslims have been led to believe is designed to strip them off their citizenship in tandem with NRC.

“I dare Indian government to show guts, like one more Bangladesh, for 20-25 crore Indian Muslims make another separate country, like Pakistan. Then you can declare India as a Hindu Rashtra (nation),” Verma said.

His remarks drew sharp reactions from the anchor and from the BJP spokesperson, Sudhanshu Trivedi, who berated him for his inflammatory and divisive comments. The incident happened during the Zee News show ‘Taal Thok Ke’.

Congress and other ‘secular’ parties have been staunchly opposed to CAA and along with radical Islamist outfits and the country’s left-liberal intelligentsia & media, they have been spreading propaganda among the nation’s Muslims about the Act being an assault on their citizenship and the Constitution. The fact that CAA is merely granting citizenship to persecuted religious refugees already living in Bharat and not taking away anyone’s citizenship, is brushed away by creating a tenuous link between CAA and a proposed nation-wide NRC intended to detect illegal immigrants, rules for which are yet to be announced.

The latest rhetoric from Congress spokesperson Ajay Verma is no exception – it follows Punjab CM Capt. Amarinder Singh making the bizarre claim that CAA is akin to “ethnic and religious cleansing of Hitler’s Germany”.
