West Bengal: Two minor girls gang-raped, BJP MLA unhappy over Police investigation

Media houses are busy with the incident of gang-rape of two women in Manipur. And in that flow of biased journalism, gang-rape of two minor girls in West Bengal remained neglected.

As per received information, two minor girls were gang-raped in Pandua under Gazole Police station of Maldah district. After a complaint was filed, Police arrested two minor boys. BJP MLA Srirupa Mitra Chaudhury is not happy with the police investigation.

On Sunday, two minor girls were gang-raped. Next day, due to excessive pain, girls’ mother came to know about the torture after enquiring. On that night, i.e. on Monday night, parents took the girls to Hatimari Primary Health Centre. But, the on duty doctor released them after primary treatment and gave an ointment as medicine without giving any prescription.

Soon after getting the news, BJP MLA Srirupa Mitra Chaudhury took them to the hospital for treatment. On-duty doctor referred them to the Maldah Medical College and Hospital without any treatment. Now, they are undergoing treatment there.

BJP MLA Srirupa Mitra Chaudhury alleged, “After complaint, police arrested two minor boys. But, the police are not doing the investigation properly. Medical check-up is not done yet as police are not co-operating. I’m sorry to see that the police are not actively involved in this sensitive matter. No sign of Child Welfare Committee so far.”
