West Bengal: Dead bodies of two girls found, the Police investigating

Today morning, locals of Harischandrapur village found dead bodies of two girls in a pond. After receiving information from the locals, the Police reached the spot and sent the bodies for postmortem. The Police have started the investigation. As of now, the identity of the girls are not known.

Notably, the village Harischandrapur comes under the jurisdiction of the Basanti Police Station of South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. It’s a rural area and a hub of human trafficking, smuggling, illegal arms factories and other illegal activities.

As per locals, the bodies were found in a pond less than hundred metres from a hotel. The girls might have been murdered elsewhere and bodies were later thrown into the pond, they assumed. Also, clothes were torn, leading towards the possibility of sexual assault before the murder.

Hearing the news, locals in large numbers gathered. But, nobody couldn’t identify them. Meanwhile, the Police have started an investigation.
