Rameshwaram Cafe bomb blast suspect arrested, Abdul Saleem with alleged PFI ties apprehended in AP

In connection with the recent bomb blast at Rameshwaram Cafe in Bengaluru, a suspect named Abdul Saleem has been apprehended by the police under suspicious circumstances as reported by M9. Saleem was taken into custody while loitering near a prayer hall in Mydakuru, situated in the Kadapa district, and subsequently, he was transferred to Hyderabad.

According to reports, Abdul Saleem, originally from Jagityal, is believed to have affiliations with the banned organization People Front of India (PFI). The incident at Rameshwaram Cafe, despite being a low-intensity blast, sent shockwaves throughout Bengaluru.

The accused allegedly entered the cafe carrying a bag, which was later set with a timer. Approximately an hour after the suspicious activity, the explosion occurred, causing injuries to around 10 individuals. The blast at Rameshwaram Cafe in Bengaluru’s Whitefield was confirmed by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah as being caused by a low-intensity improvised explosive device (IED).

The incident unfolded during the busy lunch hour when crowds from nearby offices gathered at the popular eatery located in the eastern part of the city, known for its South Indian cuisine.

Following Abdul Saleem’s arrest, an investigation into his potential involvement in the bomb blast is underway. Rameshwaram Cafe is a well-known South Indian Quick Service Restaurant chain, operating under the trademark-registered brand of M/s. Altran Ventures Pvt. Ltd. The cafe prides itself on providing hot and fresh servings with the finest ingredients, authentic South Indian recipes, and strict adherence to hygiene standards. Launched in 2021 by Raghavendra Rao and his wife Divya Rao, the cafe chain has successfully opened two outlets in Bengaluru, becoming a popular hub for South Indian food enthusiasts.
