Mumbai police under Uddhav Thackeray led MVA government orders removal of Saffron flags

Mumbai police, under the Shiv Sena-led MVA government which prides itself on being a saffron party, today ordered the removal of saffron flags from MSRTC (Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation) buses carrying the slogan “Jai Shivray Jai Jijau” (victory be to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Rajmata Jijau).

These buses were being decorated with saffron flags for the upcoming Maratha rally. TV9 report states that the Mumbai police stopped vehicles carrying saffron flags at Thane and ordered the removal of flags before allowing the buses to head for Mumbai. The Maratha reservation agitators are supposedly being stopped at the checkpoints.

This is not just an insult of Hindu Dharma of which saffron is representative but also of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Rajamata Jijau who saved Hindu Dharma from Islamic Jihadists. All this is happening under a supposedly saffron party whose president is the CM and one that is named after the Chhatrapati.

While Sanjay Raut had taunted LoP (Leader of Opposition) Devendra Fadnavis for stating that the unadulterated saffron of the BJP  has to be hoisted again atop the BMC, it is the police under the Shiv Sena-led MVA government that has been ordering the removal of saffron flags. Will Raut or CM Thackeray speak against this insult of the saffron and by extension that of Hindu Dharma and Chhatrapati Shivray? or has the Shiv Sena sacrificed saffron and Hindutva for power? Would they care to explain to their party members and voters at least?
