“It’s only because of gods’ grace”, Chandrayaan 3 Project Director’s dad on mission’s success

As Bharat celebrates the success of culturally rooted civilizationally aware scientists at ISRO, Chandrayaan 3 Program Director P Veera Muthuvel’s father has attributed the success to “gods’ grace.” He also revealed that Muthuvel and his family prayed to deities for the mission to succeed before the mission was launched and said that it should not be forgotten.

Social media is going crazy with videos of parents of ISRO scientists celebrating Chandrayaan 3’s success and scientists being given a never-before-seen heroic welcome. Even though the mission has spread positivity through its success, the usual suspects keep looking for opportunities to create fault lines. Tamil media, most of which slaves for anti-Hindu DMK and infested with Periyarists, was no different and tried to catch Veera Muthuvel and his father unawares to further the leftist narrative, which mocked scientists for visiting Tirupati temple before the launch.

Since the project became a success, Dravidianists abusing ISRO and the central government for ‘wasting’ so much money on space exploration while crores of people were dying of starvation have started playing the Tamil card. They began to claim scientists like Muthuvel as their own. Boasting that it was Tamils’ success, some even attributed it to Periyar, aka EV Ramasamy, and DMK, saying it was because of them that scientists like Muthuvel got an education. However, Muthuvel and his father have blown all that propaganda to smithereens with their sensible media bytes.

In a video doing rounds on social media, a reporter asked Muthuvel, “How do you feel as a Tamil?”. The director seems to be well aware of the narrative furthered by the ruling party and its doormats and readily replies, “It is nothing like Tamil or something. It is pan-India. ISRO is pan-India. I’m proud of it. I’m proud of being a Tamil and Indian”.

The reporter rephrased the question and asked, “How many in your team are from Tamil Nadu?”. After initially replying, “There are many,” Muthuvel caught the tone of the question and said, “See, our center is a mixture of people. Everyone is there”.

Media tried the same trick with his father but on a different front. His father, while speaking to the media attributed the success of the mission to divinity, saying, “Gods’ grace is the only reason behind this. I worship deities, and so does he. He went to all the temples earlier (before the launch). In Particular, he went to Tirupati to pray. So we cannot forget the deities here”.

Dravidianists and their ilk, who now celebrate Muthuvel’s and Chandrayaan’s success as their own, would have abused him for being a Hindu and visiting Tirupati Balaji temple if the mission had failed. They would have called him a cow-dung brain simply for exercising his right to practice his religion. Now that Muthuvel and other scientists have shown Dravidianists where they belong, hopefully, the next generation misguided by the latter’s propaganda sees that being religious and possessing a scientific temper need not be exclusive, especially when one is a Hindu.
