In Bharat’s “star-struck” liberal media circuit, Alwar is almost a place of pilgrimage because it is one of the sites of a “star lynching” – that of Pehlu Khan, one of the superstars of the activism circuit of modern Bharat. Cynical as it may sound, I say superstar not lightly: after all, everyone knows his name, and that is the definition of a superstar, right? Other superstars in that firmament are Junaid, Akhlaq, and the latest Tabrez. These people: cattle smugglers and thieves caught in the act, have become the Rosa Parks for the liberals of Bharat.  

But did you know that in the very same Alwar, a few days back, a young Hindu man, Harish Jatav (28), was beaten to death even though he was not a cattle smuggler, a thief, or any sort of criminal.  He was a decent family man, a father of 4 daughters, and son to a blind father, and a person who drove trucks to feed his family. He did not steal cows, he did not break into homes for thievery.  But he was beaten to death by a Muslim mob.

His fault? He accidentally hit a Muslim woman by name Hakiman while driving his bike. The woman was taken to hospital, but Hakiman’s family, led by one Umar Sher, beat Harish so badly that he was profusely bleeding and unconscious by the time the police got to him.  He died in a hospital in Delhi 2 days later. 

As is the norm in such cases when the victim is a Hindu, mainstream media and police/administration are busy trying to sanitize the issue – this News18 report adroitly sidesteps naming those who assaulted Harish, while the Times of India reports Alwar SP Paris Deshmukh as saying ‘there is no evidence to indicate that the youth’s death was a case of mob lynching’.

My question is simple:  why was a honest, law abiding Hindu lynched by a Muslim mob for an accident?  And why don’t our liberal liars even talk about it? They can talk endlessly, crying crocodile tears, for smugglers and thieves.  So why not for a honest hard working Dalit Hindu?
