Grooming jihad in TN- 17 year old Hindu girl made to consume rat poison after being raped

A 17 year old Hindu girl in Tamil Nadu was groomed by a Muslim man who raped her on the pretext of marrying her. The girl was made to consume rat poison and lost her life today. The Muslim man, his mother and associates have been arrested after the issue gained attention in social media.

Yoga Lakshmi, a 17 year old Hindu girl from Thumbaipatti, a village near Madurai went missing on February 14. Her parents informed the police and allegedly asked them to look for her without filing FIR. Cops discovered that the girl was in contact with one Nagore Haneefa (26) and that she could have gone with him. Later cops convinced the girl’s father who feared that her reputation would be spoiled, about registering an FIR.

In the meanwhile, the Haneefa had taken the girl to his friend’s house in Madurai and then to his relative Ibrahim’s house in Pallipalayam, Erode. Pallipalayam is a Muslim majority area. Police say that they lived as “husband and wife”. Tamil media reports say that Haneefa’s mother scolded him for taking the girl as it would disturb the harmony in the village and his relatives told him that as she is a minor it will create problems.

Upset by this and frightened as police were in search of him, Haneefa made the girl consume rat poison and reportedly took some himself. But he spat it out while the girl fully consumed it. Haneefa is said to have taken the girl to the nearby private hospital and got her treated without revealing that she was given rat poison. Once her health improved a little bit, he took her to his house and asked his mother to leave the girl with her parents.

Haneefa’s mother Matheena Begum took her in an auto and dropped her at her house on March 3. The girls parents, unaware that she consumed poison, thought that she was sleepy at first. Later they took her to a private hospital where they were told that their girl could have been sexually abused. She was taken to the government hospital in Melur which referred her to the Madurai Rajaji Government Hospital. As the girl was unconscious and Haneefa was absconding the cause of her illness couldn’t be diagnosed immediately.

Her health kept deteriorating and she died today. The girl’s relatives say that she could have been sedated with drugs as there were marks on her body suggesting the same. But cops said that it was the mark made by veflon used in the private hospital to which Haneefa admitted her initially. Haneefa has been booked under POCSO and 9 others have been booked under relevant sections of IPC.

8 persons including his mother Matheena Begum, aunt Ramzan Begum alias Kannammal, relative Raja Mohammed and friends Prakash, Perumal, Sahul Hameed and Raja Mohammed have been arrested for helping him. The girls relatives allege that she could have been sedated with drugs and raped by many men. They have been demanding a fair investigation and autopsy in the presence of a judicial magistrate.

After a 17 year old girl Lavanya consumed pesticide after facing continuous harassment for not converting to Christianity, now another Hindu girl of same age, has fallen for grooming jihad. DMK affiliated media is trying to whitewash this crime by reporting that cops refuted the claim that the girl was raped.

  1. It appears even the aunt Kannamal is a converted, she may have encouraged the rapist/murderer Haneefa to lure the girl. Many of these converted still roam around with hindu names.

  2. This happens all over India many times every day. Most cases (9/10) are not reported, and in many cases it cannot be confirmed girl has been taken by a peaceful. So there is some FIR for missing girl… If you add up those FIRs, it will be many thousands every year.
