Amid the nationwide outrage over the doctor’s rape and murder case in Kolkata’s R G Kar Hospital, a minor Hindu girl is gang-raped in Dhing of Assam. 

However, within few hours, the police arrested two Islamists. They are Jonaidul Islam and Tafazzul Hussain. 

The Dhing area comes under the Nagaon district of Assam. 

As per the local sources, the heinous crime happened in the evening of the 22nd of August. The minor Hindu girl is a student of Class- X. Yesterday evening, she was returning from her tuition class. Islamists dragged her to a deserted land and gang-raped her. Then, the Islamists threw her beside a road and left. 

After few hours, some locals saw the girl and recovered her. They took the girl to the local hospital and informed the police. As the girl’s condition was critical, she was referred to the Nagaon district hospital for better treatment. She is undergoing treatment there. 

As the news spread, thousands of locals come out on the street in protest. They demanded strong punishment of the accused. 

Anger still prevails. Today, in different districts of Assam, Hindus are protesting against the heinous act. 

Meanwhile CM Himanta Biswa Sarma promised to take strong action. He also pointed out that change of demography is the reason behind such crimes.
