Fake news spread that anti-Muslim and anti-Sikh chants were heard in Ahmedabad during World Cup cricket match

A video of a verbal altercation between Indian fans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad during the #INDvsPAK match has been shared, claiming that a Sikh youth was targeted because of his religion, and they called him a khalistani.

The fact is that a verbal altercation broke out between them when a guy put his leg on another’s seat, leaving it dirty. It has nothing to do with religion, and no words like khalistani were heard in the video or being reported on media.

Religious hate and misinformation propaganda accounts are circulating a digitally altered video after the highly anticipated Cricket World Cup match #INDvsPAK at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.


the video shows visuals of the stadium after the end of the match when offensive religious slogans against a particular community can be heard. The fact is that this video has been digitally altered, nothing to do with reality, the voice in the video has been added.

from a viral audio, that has been available online for the last couple of years.Original visuals show when the players were shaking hands with each other the patriotic song “Vande Mataram” Was being played. Nothing to do with offensive slogans against a particular community.

INTENT: Pakistani Propagandists along with anti-national Indians, circulate digitally altered videos with false claims to create communal disharmony in the country.
