In a decisive crackdown against illegal immigration, the Udupi Principal Senior Civil Judge and CJM Court has sentenced ten Bangladeshi nationals to two years of rigorous imprisonment, along with a fine of ₹10,000 each, for unlawfully entering Bharat and using forged Aadhaar cards to reside in the district.
The case originated on October 11, 2024, when PSI Praveen Kumar R of Malpe Police Station, while on routine patrol near the Vadabandeshwara Bus Stand, spotted seven individuals moving suspiciously with heavy luggage. When questioned, the group failed to produce any valid documents proving their legal entry or residence in Bharat.
Subsequent interrogation and investigation revealed that all seven accused had crossed into Bharat illegally from Bangladesh and were living in the Hoode–Paduthonse area using fake Aadhaar identities. Acting swiftly, police later traced and arrested three more accomplices, bringing the total number of accused to ten. A comprehensive chargesheet was filed under provisions of the IPC, the Foreigners Act, and the Aadhaar Act.
After a detailed trial, the court on December 8, 2025, convicted all ten individuals based on strong evidence of illegal entry, fraudulent identity creation, and violation of Bharatiya immigration laws. The judgment underscores the seriousness with which the judiciary views the misuse of national identification systems and unauthorized cross-border movement.
Police officials stated that the verdict serves as a strong deterrent and affirmed that enforcement agencies will continue stringent action against illegal migrants and document-forgery networks operating in the region. Authorities reiterated their commitment to safeguarding national security by identifying, arresting, and prosecuting such offenders without exception.
Hindu Post reported the incident back in October 2024, when these individuals were first identified and arrested during routine police surveillance. The case, culminating in their conviction in December 2025, highlights the urgent need for similar enforcement across Bharat. With rising concerns over illegal immigration and its implications for national security, there is a growing demand that all unlawful entrants, regardless of region, be subjected to strict legal action and swift justice to ensure the safety and sovereignty of the nation.

Most of the Bangladeshis that infiltrate India are deft in forgeries, smuggling and fradulence and other nefarious activities. They must not be given shelter in India but driven out post-haste!
