“Ram Nath Kovind-led panel submits report on One Nation One Election to President”, India Today, March 14, 2024:

“Former President Ram Nath Kovind-led panel on Thursday submitted an extensive report on ‘One Nation One Election (ONOE)’ to President Droupadi Murmu. The high-level committee recommended that the central government must develop a legally tenable mechanism to restore the cycle of simultaneous elections.

The report comprises 18,626 pages, and is the outcome of extensive consultations with stakeholders, experts and research work of 191 days, since its inception on September 2, 2023.

The report was submitted to President Murmu after the panel met her at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi earlier in the day.

“Based on suggestions from parties, experts and other stakeholders, the Committee was of the unanimous view that simultaneous elections will bring fundamental transformation in the electoral process and overall governance,” the report said…..”
