Many Muslim men are misusing Sharia law to have multiple wives, but cannot be punished for bigamy under the Sharia law: Allahabad HC

“Many Muslim men are misusing Sharia law to have multiple wives, but cannot be punished for bigamy under the Sharia law: Allahabad HC”, Opindia, May 15, 2025:

“The Allahabad High Court has observed that the a Muslim man cannot be punished for bigamy for having more than one wife if his marriage is conducted under the Muslim law. Noting that the religious provision is being misused by Muslim men. a single bench of Justice Arun Kumar Singh Deshwal said that the legislature should consider enacting the Uniform Civil Code.

The court pointed out that polygamy is mentioned in the Quran only once and that too for a fair historical reason. There was a time in history when a large number of women were widowed, and children were orphaned in primitive tribal tussles in Arabs.

The Muslims suffered heavy casualties in defending the nascent Islamic community in Medina. It was under such circumstances that the Quran allowed conditional polygamy to protect orphans and their mothers from exploitation,” the court observed……”

  1. India should be one country, of course secular & democratic, with one Consitution and one Judiciary maintaining uniform Law for all citizens.

  2. First of all, these laws criminalizes Hindus and other non-muslims for an act, which is not only allowed for Mohammadans, but becomes a pious religious duty. It is a case of blatant constitutional appeasement. This speaks of the wretched mindset of timid and coward Hindus. This kind of law enacted by Hindus is a depraved behavior akin to eating your own shit.

Normally, when faced with cruel and criminal descriptions in Quran and other Mohammadan scriptures, a coward Hindu immediately distances himself/herself, saying that they do not know and are not knowledgeable enough to comment. Now, Justice Arun Kumar Singh Deshwal not only conveniently becomes an expert in Quran and Hadees and Sunnah, but also quotes it to rationalize the case for polygamy, and to certify how multiple wives should be treated, quoting Mohammadan scriptures! Of course Hindus will be put into jail, foregoing all such rationalizations. This depraved, wretched, defeated mindset of Hindus is quite pervasive. It shows that Hindus have a religion which is not only weak, but also unable to provide them ethical answers. Consequently you start brown nosing yourself out of fear of simmering background Mohammadan terror and delude yourself into thinking that you are “tolerant”, “fair”, “impartial”, “secular”, “broad-minded”, in contrast to faithful Hindus who by virtue of just arti ulating their faith become “communal”, “intolerant”, “superstitious”, “andh-bhakt”, “irrational”.

The pervasive inferiority complex of Hindus is deep-seated and gives us a feeling of gloom and hopelessness.
