Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that his government will take special arrangements and provisions to protect Satra(Vaishnavite monasteries) from encroachment.
Sarma said, “The Assam Government will create belts and blocks to protect Satras and other cultural and spiritual institutions from the menace of encroachment. The state is committed to protecting land rights of all sections of the people.”
On the 23rd of February, Friday, CM Sarma was addressing a gathering in the Tinsukia district, where he distributed Pattas(land deeds) to the beneficiaries of the ‘Mission Basundhara 2.0’ scheme.
He also said his government will provide land rights to needy people by 2026. The government will launch Mission Basundhara 3.0 in the upcoming years.
Besides distributing pattas to the beneficiaries, he also laid the foundation stones for different projects.
