Musician Kannan Bhasi accuses Alappuzha Kreupasanam meditation center of forced Christian conversion

Kannan Bhasi, a talented young Malayali Hindu musician complained that people belonging to other religions were forced to convert to Christianity. He alleged Kreupasanam meditation center in Alappuzha was behind this forced conversion mafia and they offered money. Kannan, who composes Hindu devotional songs, has come forward with a complaint against Kreupasanam for forced religious conversion. He is a native of Alappuzha.

Kannan Bhasi also added that some top police officers are also being used for this purpose in Kerala. Some women are also the links in this evil plan. It is also said that they are used to tempt people to convert.

It is said that Kannan was also threatened when he was in Germany. He was forced to convert to Christianity by offering money. Kannan alleges that if he did not change his religion, he was threatened he would spend the rest of his life in some European jail.

Kerala’s top police officers allegedly have links to this conversion mafia. Temptations mostly come from women. Kannan said that he left the district when he could not stay in Alappuzha. At the same time, the young man is preparing to approach the court to prevent such ladies from approaching him in the future and force him to change his religion.

Kreupasanam Marian Shrine, a retreat center under the Diocese of Alappuzha is known for forced conversion and soul harvesting using faith healing. They also publish a ‘spiritual newspaper’ that encourages non-Christians to convert.  They expect to build a cult following by expounding the miracles wrought by the newspaper when ingested in multiple forms, worn on the forehead after turning into ash, or folded and kept under the pillow while sleeping.

a school teacher claims that her former student who had depression was healed after eating a piece of the Kreupasanam newspaper. The boy was fed the piece of paper along with chutney by his mother on her advice and was ‘cured’, the woman claimed. Other videos give the credit for miracle work to statuettes of the Virgin Mary, bottles of holy oil, or honey from the Kreupasanam Marian Shrine. Economics runs this forced conversion mafia and such centers have accumulated crores worth of assets enabling them to run their operations smoothly.

Their actions have resulted in criticism that celebrities are endorsing superstitions. The retreat centre however maintains that the newspaper Kreupasanam is being published to propagate Marian messages and they have never claimed that it has any miraculous powers. Kerala has dozens of similar retreat centers across the state. Many times the Christian faithful do not realize that they are spreading superstitions through these testimonies.

Kannan’s revelations have not gone down well with those who benefit from the conversion mafia. Dubious characters on social media started hounding Kannan immediately. They accuse Kannan of falsifying facts.

Getting an invite to Christianity or a bible or a spiritual magazine is not a big deal, say radical Christians. Kannan asks why such elements are forcing their religion on non-Christians. He was forced to complain after such encounters with the conversion mafia elements continued unabated. I am a Hindu and the conversion mafia tormented me and my family continually. Anyone would react under similar circumstances.

It is difficult when unknown ladies hell-bent on conversion approach you and your loved ones on a daily basis. There are laws in Bharat to prevent persistent haunting and threats. That is why I complained, added Kannan.

Cyber goondas asked Kannan why he went to the Christian nation of Germany to further his studies. The government of Bharat allows citizens to travel to countries of their choice. To those Christians who attack Kannan on social media, the victim has a simple question. Do conversion fanatics from other religions come to your doorstep asking you to convert? Only those who are victims of such crimes will understand the mental and physical strain that victims suffer. Those who abuse me will turn to violence if put in such a situation. We do not indulge in violence since we (Hindus) are always courteous.
