Thrissur Vaamanamoorthy temple land encroached and desecrated by controversial Communist Karuvannur bank

Janmabhumi reported that the fraud-ridden Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM) managed Karuvannur Cooperative Bank was built encroaching on the land of the Mithraanandapuram Vaamanamoorthy Temple at Mapranam near Cherpu, Thrissur. The temple had elaborate Hindu rituals that have since been discontinued. The temple remains neglected and is covered in shrubs.

While the construction progressed, the laborers defecated inside the temple compound. Karuvannur Cooperative Bank claimed they bought the land from a private person. How did someone sell temple land, and why did a bank purchase it? Septic tanks built adjoin the temple foundation. There are allegations that local communists arranged this illegal transaction and enabled the temple desecration.

Until two years ago, Tantri Animangalam Subrahmanyan Namboodiri used to light the lamp and offer prayers here. But that, too, had to be stopped when the bank’s communist management allowed the discharge of human waste into the temple land. The outside world learned about the bank’s robbery and fraud after they encroached on the temple land, built the structure, and defiled the temple.

A court order stayed the further construction of the building Karuvannur Bank assembled on temple land, but the damage had been done. All the construction work of the bank stopped, and today, Karuvannur Cooperative Bank has become synonymous with fraud. No action was initiated against the anti-Hindu communists who let the desecration happen.

Thousands of innocent depositors cannot withdraw their lifetime earnings. Several have died either committing suicide or since they could not pay for their medical treatment. Local Marxist leaders are accused of defrauding at least 500 crore Rupees from this bank alone. Hundreds of such cooperative ‘banks’ exist in Kerala and are managed by Congress and CPM leaders. The situation looks dire since the ruling regime has no definite plan to tackle this crisis.

Mapranam Vaamanamoorthy temple was a temple that had a large shrine, auditorium, enclosure, pool, temple well, and compound wall. It was one of the most rare Parasurama temples in Kerala. It is one of the rare temples in Kerala where Othoot Yajna is performed, lasting more than two months.

Yajurveda is used for the Veda Samhita (a methodically rule-based combination of text or verses) called Othoot among the popular Vedas in Kerala, like Rig, Yajur, and Sama. The ultimate goal of Othoot is world peace. Once upon a time, Othkot existed in about 22 temples in Kerala, but they all gradually disappeared.

Mapranam temple was destroyed when the evil Islamic invader Tipu swept through Malabar. Hindu Vaamanamoorthy devotees were forced to remove and lower the Murthi into the temple well, which was covered.

The Murthi can be recovered by digging where the old well had stood. Today, only the remains of the shrine’s floor and the pedestal remain. This exemplifies what communism has done to Kerala’s Hindu society.

Temple properties have been encroached upon and usurped by Abrahamics and communist Hindus In Name Only (HINOs) for many years. There was even a toddy shop in the Vaamanamoorthy templeland. Today, Hindu devotees do not even have a road to the temple. The washrooms and toilets of the Karuvannur Cooperative Bank building, built next to the floor of the temple shrine, are adjacent to the temple floor.

Kaimukku Mana priest Narayanan Namboothiri informed that the ruins of Vaamanamoorthi temple are lying in a decaying condition in Mapranam town. The Tantra of the temple belongs to Animangalam Mana. Another six Illams also hold temple administration rights. A Mana/Illam is a Brahmin Namboodiri’s home.

This temple was a glorious one. Both communists and Hindu apathy have turned it into a sewage dump. Several such famous Hindu temples face the same fate. When will the government free Hindu temples, like they did other religious places of worship?
